I AM SO PROUD OF MYSELF!
I don’t usually have so much success sticking to healthy eating for a whole 7 days but I am proud to say that for an entire week I never ate fast food or dined out! Each meal was lovingly prepared at home even with a busy week of teaching a morning music camp M-F and helping with Vacation Bible School on T-W-Th nights!
Granted, it did take a lot of extra preparation. I also commented on my FaceBook that it raised my grocery bill a bit – BUT – in the long run I saved us money by not eating out!
I usually take Christian and Eva Mae to Chick-Fil-A once a week and I might run through Taco Bell or McDonalds if I don’t want to prepare lunch. It was tempting several times after leaving our music and arts camp. We got out at 11:30 each morning and after a full 2 and a half hour class, the kids were whiny. Fortunately, it also made nap time easier this week since they were so exhausted! We would come home and I would make us lunch and then we would watch one episode of a kids show on Netflix in bed and then turn off the TV and take a nap!
I also loved the routine of being busy this week. I think it will help get into the mode of school starting!
I shopped with the meal planner/shopping list feature as a Premium Club Member and it is so worth the $2.99 a week to have all the guess work taken out of meal planning and making shopping lists! Click here to read more about signing up with a Club Membership! Here are two recipes that I loved this week!
I planned out my menu before the day started to make sure I stayed on track. A few times I ate more than I should have (I made yummy gluten free muffins!!!) But I feel good knowing that if I did eat a little more than I should have it was with healthy whole foods and not potato chips or fast food!
Oh, and I also need to talk to you about my workouts! Yes, I did workout EV.ER.Y. DAY. Seriously, if I can do it – anyone can! Knowing that I signed up as a coach to not only get healthier, but also to help others and to build a business was a motivation for me to get up when my alarm went off. I’m setting my sights on what my goals will accomplish in 6 weeks. I’ve loved that time to myself before the kids wake up to push my physical limits and feel my body get stronger! I’m doing the Slim in 6 and it’s right at my level. There’s no jumping around, punching, burpees, woodchucks, or anything that can be a turn off to someone who is just starting on their workout journey. I’m sure my tastes may change in the future, but right now I am enjoying the low impact and resistance training workouts! And the Slim and Limber 15 minute stretch….. HEAVENLY! Today I did change it up a bit with a 21 Day Fix Pilates session (I just love Autumn!) but in the early mornings I like the laid back demeanor that Debbie has.
Once the 6 weeks are up I am going to start a group of 21 Day Fixers – I hope you’ll join me! We’ll be starting September 1st!
Ok, so are you willing to jump in and start making some new habits this week? Let’s start by setting a goal to drink 64 ounces of water each day and 30 minutes of physical activity! Want some external motivation? Sign up with me as your free coach and I’m going to send out an e-mail this week to remind you to think about your health!
Oh, and if you’re curious….we are at 5 new members in the Team Beachbody membership! When I get to 25 members (it’s TOTALLY free to join!) I’ll have a giveaway! Woo hoo!
